Founded in 1905 during the Japanese colonial era as Erlin Public School, Erlin Elementary has grown from a handful of simple classrooms into the wide, modern campus it stands as today. Generations of graduates have gone on to shape every field of Taiwanese life, while many still give back to their hometown of Erlin.
二林國小創始於一九〇五年日治時期，前身為「二林公學校」，從簡陋的校舍蛻變至今日巍峨壯麗的現代校園。近百年來，二林國小培育了無數國家棟樑、社會菁英，也持續為建設美好的二林鎮奉獻心力。
In 1971, Erlin opened one of Taiwan's earliest classes for deaf students on a mainstream elementary campus — a quiet but significant step that helped move deaf education beyond schools built only for the deaf.
1971 年，二林國小成立啟聰班，打破了過去認為聽障生應在啟聰學校就讀的觀念，是台灣特殊教育史上重要的一步。

Two buildings, still standing where they were built.
兩棟老建築，仍佇立在最初落成的地方。
The school's 1938 auditorium — the Grand Hall — was designated a Changhua County historic building in 2003. A short walk away stands the former Japanese-era faculty dormitory, now the Erlin Sugarcane Peasants Event Memorial Hall, designated historic in 2008. Both remain landmarks of Erlin Township, quietly framing the modern campus around them.
建於 1938 年的二林公學校禮堂，於 2003 年公告為彰化縣歷史建築；不遠處的日治時期校長宿舍，現為二林蔗農事件紀念館，也於 2008 年公告為歷史建築。兩棟老建築是二林鎮的地標之一，靜靜地與宏偉的現代校舍相互輝映。

Erlin blends bilingual education with hands-on, cross-disciplinary STEAM learning. A school-based curriculum built around local history and the Erlin Sugarcane Peasants Event — "the Studies of Erlin" — keeps every lesson rooted close to home.
From its early classes for deaf students to today's commitment to the rights of students with disabilities, Erlin has long practiced an inclusive kind of care — extending the same attention to new immigrant families and multicultural education.
Handball, basketball, and lion-dance teams give Erlin students plenty of ways to move, compete, and build confidence — on the field and off it.
